Thanks for stopping by - please note:
I haven't updated this website in ages. The reason is I am not working as an independent consultant anymore (which is what this website was originally created for).

Feel free to browse these pages, but keep in mind that they reflect the state of things ca. late 2005.

Cheers,
Christopher

Oh yeah, and...
Happy New Year of course!

The last one has been very entertaining, to say the least, and the way this one is shaping up...seems I ain't seen nothin' yet.

After-hours update
Since back at home (a flexible concept indeed by now) regulation regarding closing times in the retail sector has recently been abolished (don't worry if you don't understand this, you would have to have spent considerable time in Germany to do so), I thought I would demonstrate my respect for workers in the retail sector as well by working way past reasonable hours and giving this site a past-midnight update.

The results of which are especially visible in the PORTFOLIO/Freestyle/Photo category. Granted, there are still about 98239 shots missing, which is almost as bad as the utter lack of RSS feeds on this website and the fact that I still have not had the time to substitute the INSPIRATION category with a direct feed from del.icio.us. But please bear with me...even though they would theoretically be able to, the stores at home are not open 24h either.

A New Perspective
...and no, I am not talking about Donald Byrd's 1963 recording for Blue Note Records, although the artist description on allmusic.com - "a solid stylist with a clean tone, clear articulation, and a knack for melodicism" - is something I would be happy to be claiming myself.

I would kindly like to inform you that as of November 1, 2006, I have joined Infinita Inc. as VP Overseas Business Development.

In this role, I will be responsible for expanding the high-tech industry research and trend scouting practice at Infinita, as well as creating and managing new business opportunities for the company and its partners in Japan and abroad.

Infinita is an IT solutions company focusing on developing applications and content for mobile, PC and gaming platforms. It provides its clients with solutions covering all project stages, from consulting to site/content planning to development. The company also provides business consulting and market research services to clients based in Japan and abroad, looking to facilitate international co-operation and knowledge transfer.

The billich.biz website will continue to be updated - no, really!

Billich has left the building
I have left my former employer, Naviblog Corporation, recently.

For the moment, suffice it to say that I am taking anything but a holiday (after all, Japan is not really a country where you take holidays a whole lot, is it?)...working on various projects which, no surprises here, involve all sorts of mobile and web stuff. Seems like people will eternally be asking me the question, "so where is this all leading?", which I am doing my best to answer.

I will continue to be doing this work (and more) from November, but wearing a "company hat" once again. Stay tuned for details.
